I'm a very careful shopper and I absolutely refuse to overpay.

While looking for a new/used high end camera I noticed all the used items available on the market seemed overpriced for older cameras.

I thought, maybe a local shop will have better deals? I was recommended this shop by a friend.

I went in to scope the place out. And ended up putting a camera on hold that day! The person who helped me was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and not pushing. They helped me pick what I wanted and stay within a budget.

Before making my final purchase I price checked the Camera online and found there was not any better deals to be had on the very same camera, even Online!

I went back and made my purchase and I am not disappointed. A great purchasing experience all the way through. I will be going back in the future for all my camera gear needs.

I came to the shutterbug when passing through Portland to get a roll of film developed. The staff was friendly and informative and helped get me set up for scans of my photos. I will definitely be sending my film in and shopping here in the future. Great place for pros and beginners.

I wanted to get back into photography, after shooting film 20+ years ago. I first tried to figure everything out myself and bought a camera online that I thought would be a good fit.

It turns out I had issues with the camera I ordered and went round and round with the online company. After returning two different cameras I purchased online, I decided to shop someplace local, to receive some personalized advice and guidance. I tried a few different shops around town and landed on Shutterbug.

I talked a bunch with Sean, who was super friendly and explained the world of digital photography to me in a way that was easy to understand. He didn't judge me for trying to buy online and instead understood my journey. He helped my son find just the right accessory to mount his iPad to a tripod. He helped me find the perfect digital camera that fit my needs and my budget. I feel like I found my photography "home" and I highly recommend this gem of a shop.

Amazing. I walked in intent to purchase a Sony A7rV and Sean took over an hour and walked me through various camera bodies from various manufacturers, their benefits, limitations, and let me get a feel for each one, including different lenses so I could feel the weight and how they all felt in my hands. He was even able to show me photos that he had personally taken with the cameras that I was considering so I could see real-world results.

I Ended up with the A7cII and 24-70 GMII lens and I couldn't be happier with my decision. Plus, I got to support a local camera shop with amazing, truly knowledgeable staff. Thank you, Sean!

I got a digital passport photo taken a few weeks ago that didn’t work for my online application. The staff today (didn’t get their names sorry!) went above and beyond to not only get me a digital version of my photo that worked but also printed my photos. In and out in less than 30 minutes. Definitely will be there for all my photo needs in the future!

The staff are extremely helpful and kind. I love getting my film developed here. Great rates if you get their membership, which also came with a free 8x10 print!

A++++ customer service!!!

I was recently photographing an event nearby when my battery turned faulty (3rd one that day!) and I called this place in a panic. I usually use two bodies but since I was having so many battery issues I was forced to only have one.. YIKES!! They had a battery half charged and Chris, who I spoke with, offered to throw it on the charger until I could get there. He didn’t seem bothered AT ALL that I called all flustered and made me instantly feel at ease about my situation. When I arrived, it was ready and charged!

Sean finished the transaction and was really kind and offered a lot of info on upgrading my Nikon as well. He also offered to put my other battery on the charger and I could grab it later but I said no thank you since I rarely used this camera. But the offer was kind.

They also accepted Apple Pay, which was another lifesaver because as I arrived I realized I left my debit card back at the event venue (it was a day… good lord!)

I will absolutely return to this location in the future. They saved me during a moment of extreme stress!
