I recently had my first webinar and didn’t have time to research microphones or cameras. I needed something reliable and easy, so I reached out to Speakerbox Media. When I decided to record the audio version of my first book, Reminiscing with a Stranger, I had no idea where to start.  A Google search gave me the names of several locally-based studios in Houston, but they were almost all music focused and couldn't help me.

Then I found SpeakerBox Media.  I spoke with Ray at length about my project. He told me that they had done audiobooks in the past and wanted to get back into it. We worked out a mutually acceptable plan, and I prepared myself for this new experience.  Needless to say I was nervous about this unknown and audacious adventure I was about to embark upon.

My nervousness was soon put to rest when I saw their operation.  Located in a beautiful historic downtown building, I quickly felt at ease that I entered into the company of people who were extremely competent at their craft.

I was made to feel comfortable as I was led through the whole process.   Soon, I was seated at a table, a large microphone inches from my face, reading my story for what I hoped would be a worldwide audience.

I quickly came to realize that writing your story is very different from reading it out loud.  Thankfully, Sarah acted as my director and coaxed out a better performance from me that I could have ever done purely on my own.   Her patience and suggestions boosted my confidence with every page.

When the post-production phase began, they were able to smooth over my many verbal blunders so that I ended up sounding as if narration was my actual career and had been doing it for years.

Now my book is listed on Audible where over 23 million subscribers have access to it.   I couldn't be prouder or more sure that it is the best possible version I could have produced.

I want to thank the entire staff at SpeakerBox Media, from Ray and Sarah, to Parker and Pius, for being so professional and kind, and helping me create a legacy project that I can be proud to send out into the world.
