Would not recommend for their framing services.

Came here to get a photo printed and framed with one of their custom frames. For the price you pay, the service is very lacking. For the photo printing, you email a copy of the photo and they show you what the photo will look like, and you go over the sizing. I was told the photo quality was great and on the computer it looked like the resolution was good especially for an iphone photo. They notify you when the photo is done and then you return to discuss which frame, mat size, and type of glass you want. The photo was extremely pixelated. I'm not sure how that didn't even raise any questions for them. Luckily, I inquired about it and they reprinted the photo after checking the photo quality again.

When I went to pick up the frame, they showed me a package that had the right frame but wrong photo! It was a portrait of someone else, most likely someone's grandmother. I told them that's definitely not my photo and they apologized and said they'd try to figure out what happened.

Went back a third time to finally pick up the frame and photo. Frame is right, photo is correct, but there's specks of dust under the glass and the mat has a couple smudges... And they framed the photo in a way that you cannot take it apart... At this point I'm not going back a fourth time. Having paid close to $300 for this I'm very disappointed in their service. To say their attention to detail is lacking is an understatement.

come here and snap aesthetic black-and-white vintage photos at the classic and retro photo booth. be ready with your poses, as the photo booth starts snapping pictures instantly once you’ve paid, so timing is key to getting the perfect shots!

Photoworks is a special place for not only SF, but also the bay area. A true community forward small business that goes above and beyond for its customers. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and very approachable for anything photography related.

Dave, the owner, is incredibly skilled at custom framing. He is also very kind and welcoming.

In terms of development for film, they are top notch and I recommend them for anyone looking for a pro lab. Fairly fast with impeccable quality for scans. I doubt you can find much better in the USA. Top 3 lab in the country for sure.

Great selection of film and a lovely neighborhood spot that I can’t help myself but visit regularly. My life is better with Photoworks in it.

11/10 - very highly recommended

We came here for their valentine’s Photo Booth & keychain event. It was pretty busy, but they had a staff member directing people. Everyone working there was really nice. Love that we got a few different photo strips, along with a keychain and some digital scans of our photos. Fun place for friends, family, or a date!

I've been recommending Photoworks to people for several years. On the few occasions that I had photos printed, I was pleased with the quality (despite the price being a little higher than I would like).
I began shooting 35mm again in the past 15 months and received my scans from PW via email. I was happy with the results. It took me a few months to get back to the storefront to pick up my negatives, and... Photoworks threw them away. $#@!

No where in my email with the scans did it state they would throw away my one-of-a-kind negatives after 30 days. At no time did I receive any kind of follow up email, phone call, or other notification that I had a strict window of time to pick them up. Two rolls worth of negatives doesn't take up a lot of space and while I understand PW probably ends up with a lot of negatives left behind, they might have the decency to communicate this with their customers. May I also add how wasteful it is. I paid for a service and to have MY film originals carelessly thrown away is a deal breaker for me. I will no longer recommend Photoworks to others and will be supporting other film labs in the Bay Area.

paid over 70 dollars to have them develop and print three (3) rolls of film. they only developed/printed 2 and gave me the third roll of film back (film was ruined, pretty sure it was my own fault) but they didn't tell me anything about it when I went to go pick up my prints, nor did they say anything about it during the entire week it took for them to get to developing my film... very confused about the process now because it seems like I paid 70 bucks for 2 instead of 3 rolls.

They do a great quality job at this place for framing. The reason of the 3 stars is for the lack of transparency on custom work prices. I asked for a custom framing and they quoted me twice as much as the same work (Size, material...) I ordered last year from them. When they realized I was a customer of several years and that I ordered the same work last year, the seller felt embarrassed and gave me bad justification, coming back with "only" 40% increase price. Anyway I ordered my custom work but they are loosing me as a customer for future work. Custom work pricing should be more transparent and not based on the customer.
