Lisa Kristine Gallery: Inspiring Unity Through Imagery

I first met Lisa Kristine at Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s 85th birthday celebration in Cape Town, South Africa. I knew she was a global humanitarian photographer but honestly did not fully understand her impact. During my last visit to the bay area in California, my friend took me to visit Lisa’s gallery in Sonoma and we were both impressed. We knew she did great work and had seen various photos online and in her books. Nothing compares to her gallery displays with the beautifully framed photos enlarged with accent lights brightening these global masterpieces. Her photos capture such beautiful images of people and nature with rich mesmerizing colors. I found the gallery engaging and captivating. She truly creates inspirational work. You can explore cultural diversity, religious expressions and the human condition. I already love traveling but her images helped reignite that passion for seeing the world. I want to learn more about her and work after. While at the gallery you can immerse yourself in her gallery viewing the exquisite images on the wall, flip through the pages in her books and watch snippets of her documentaries. I have also been motivated to learn more about modern slavery and Lisa Kristine’s global efforts. When I got home, I re-watched her TED Talk on modern slavery and began exploring her website. The following weekend, I watched the film “Sold” which has a character inspired by Lisa Kristine. I hope to see one of her exhibitions in Chicago and look forward to returning to the gallery when in Sonoma. Thank you Lisa Kristine for the work that you do to make this world a better place.
