Disappointing School Photos – They Don’t Even Try

My daughter’s school uses this photography studio as their go-to, and unfortunately, the results are consistently bad. They snap one quick picture and move on—no effort to adjust posture, fix hair, or get a natural smile. Every time, my daughter ends up looking ridiculous in the photos.

I’m not the only one who feels this way—many of my friends have had the same experience. It’s frustrating because when we were in preschool, they used a different photography company, and the pictures were always beautiful! The photographers back then actually took their time, captured natural expressions, and made sure each child looked their best.

It’s disappointing that the school continues to use this studio despite the poor quality. School pictures should be something parents want to keep, not something we immediately regret ordering.

First experience 1st grade pictures.

Pricing; is great nice and simple. If you want something easy and small there's a package for about $20.00

Picture; 4 poses they do look a bit alike but you can tell the difference. My child hair came out beautiful it look like they fixed her hair and she was in the center sitting up straight. Beautiful smile and looking comfortable.

Service: Great they sent me a flyer with options. I have a 1 week from when the photo was taken to see it upload online and they gave us enough time maybe about 3 weeks or weeks to buy any pictures.

Photo Quality & Delivery: I will have to wait now to see.

Customer Service: Haven't made contact with them. But will soon only because when I paid it said I made a duplicate transaction but doesn't give me other option or to check out my recent purchase.

I bought the photos ONLY so that my son would have them when he's older. These are HORRIBLE. His daycare has been doing photos twice a year for 3 years and they are all amazing. His first photos from actual school and he looks scared. The person obviously doesn't know how to work with kids. My son is so photogenic and sweet (not just saying that, most photographers snap extra photos because of the cuteness!) Its really not hard to spend a couple more moments to engage with the children. I know it makes it take longer, but I would have happily bought more merch if the photos were better. We have been giving photo gifts for the past few years. The packages were also terrible. I usually spend about $100 and get not only all the digital photos, but also some prints too. Horrible. Hope the school changes companies, or better photographers come around.

School photos.... never worth purchasing. Kids never centered. Kids wearing jackets, hoodies, and sweatshirts. Proofs available online "a week after" photos taken (if you are lucky), but you have 1 week from that point to order them, or you have to pay for shipping.
I have been incredibly disappointed. Other schools in the district get actual professionals to photograph students. With nice photos that look professional. But not with Hager.

Terrible customer service and very rude staff. Placed an order by mistake and immediately emailed without any response for multiple days. Placed the order for what I wanted out of good faith. Now they refuse to refund for the initial order even though they were notified of the mistake before sending images. "Customer service rep that I talked to just said " well that's on you". It's too bad that this company is contracted by the school as there is no other option but to continue to give them my business.

Since the schools have switched to Hager photos, I have been hesitant to buy my child's school photos, with this years making me feel no different. The quality is not good, the “multiple” poses are identical, the backgrounds are boring, and the package pricing is very expensive for the quality photos. They are not gentle with the students, nor do they care how the photos turn out and customer service needs helps. I was really hoping the Jr highs used a different photography studio, but nope.

I love the photos that they have taken of my son for both Kindergarten and now in 1st grade! I also purchased a magnet and keychain that have lasted!

Great customer service, they stand behind their products!

I had an issue with something that happened through my sons school, they took care of the issue. I highly recommend them!
