Laura is awesome to work with and we would recommend doing a newborn session with her! After submitting an initial inquiry, we heard from Laura quickly. I’m so glad we did our newborn photos with Laura. She provided detailed instructions on what to expect and what to do/bring to ensure baby is comfortable during the session. Once we got there, Laura took care of the rest. She was great with the baby and made us feel comfortable. My husband and I were able to hang out on the couches and enjoy the drinks/snacks that Laura provided. The pictures came out amazing and the backdrops were great. Laura also was very patient in helping us narrow down the best photo choices for our budget. We highly recommend Laura for your newborn session!

We purchased the maternity/newborn bundle with Laura and were very impressed! For the maternity photos, both my partner and I have experience with photoshoots, but never found them to be super comfortable. With Laura’s session, her personality and ease of suggesting poses for us made it such a fun experience. We wanted more family-style photos that highlighted my pregnancy vs. a traditional maternity shoot and she was able to accommodate our wishes perfectly. With how busy our schedules were, she was flexible with scheduling our photoshoot for a time that worked well for us as we were making a little over an hour commute to the studio, and the commute was well worth it.

For newborn photos, she was great with our 5-day old son. She kept him calm, safe, and asleep for the full duration of the 4+ hour session, which turned what we thought would be a stressful day with a newborn into a relaxing opportunity to hangout and watch how cute he is! When he did get fussy after we paused for his feeding, she was better at getting him back to sleep than I was! Light snacks, beverages, and coffee were provided, which was a huge plus because we often forgot to pack for us in those first few days after delivery.

We just received the finished photos in our gallery, so we’re still waiting on final retouches and photo delivery. Photos that have been lightly retouched for gallery purposes look great, and there are a selection in black and white for preview since Laura gives the option to include both when delivering final digital copies. She has been great with communication and follow-up from the initial time I reached out to schedule a consultation to now, which has been extremely helpful with our hectic schedules during the end of my pregnancy and life with a newborn.

For pricing, we were very happy with how affordable her packages were. The charge for newborn photos in my area in comparison to maternity and family photos has been crazy the past year or so as they’re gaining popularity, but Laura’s pricing is giving new parents more of an opportunity to have these memories. While going over my options for photographers, her portfolio made her my first choice before receiving any pricing estimates, and the quote we got was the best by far which was a huge plus. Her lower cost in no way was a negative reflection on her experience and expertise, and we’ve had the best time working with her than we could’ve imagined!

I had the most wonderful experience at Alternate Angels Photography! I went for newborn photos with family, and we are very very pleased with the pictures! It was a fun experience, easy to book. We booked a 4 hour appointment which was done in order to be able to feed/change/tend to our newborn's needs throughout the day. I thought this was a great idea, anyone with a newborn understands you go by they're schedule! The studio was comfortable and refreshments were offered. There was an abundance of props and wonderful ideas for photos which we were able to match to our baby's nursery theme. Laura takes time to find out what your looking for in the photos in terms of themes, colors, backgrounds, poses, etc. We did the family photos first which was a lot of fun, then the newborn pictures were done with baby alone, and Laura was so good with our baby, very patient, calm, soothing, she was excellent with putting him in his little poses! The photos themselves came out excellent! We were welcomed to come back in to the srudio in person to view the finished photos which was also a great experience, we had the choice to view them from home as well if we were unable to come in person. The delivery of the photos was very easy, sent to our email and all were easily downloaded. Laura offers a great selection of photo books and canvases for purchase as well. We will definitely be back for the milestone photoshoot she offers. I highly recommend Alternate Angels for your newborn/family photos!!!
