I’ve been here a few times. I’ve bought film and had film developed here and I once did a solo shoot in the studio with the silly backdrops. I’ve had decent experiences each time - that is, until I tried to get holiday “family” photos taken with my boyfriend and my dog today.

The experience was painful. I saw other reviewers say Tom is rude but it was few enough folks that I figured maybe he was just having a bad day. But now I understand what they mean. Tom was pushy and impatient with us, trying to force us into poses that were uncomfortable for our anxious dog. At one point, he refused to try any pose other than propping her up onto a tiny pillar that she couldn’t physically fit on. She was tense and shaking and he was scolding us for not making her relax. This didn’t go on for long; unfortunately, we chose to leave without getting any photos.

I would be really cautious in coming here - especially with children and pets. There are other studios in the area that take this style of photos, you don’t need to get pushed around while taking photos that are meant to be cherished memories.

My husband and I had a great time at Tom’s for our Holiday card pictures. We couldn’t stop laughing because we were having so much fun. Thank you, Tom and Tom’s wife!

Just a note, parking can be tricky depending on the time of day—we scored a metered spot on the street that is free on weekends.

Tom is the real deal! My boyfriend and I went here for a little Valentine's day shoot and we were both really nervous leading up to it. Tom made it super easy by posing us exactly how it would look good and we got 47 photos total! They all look absolutely amazing and the backdrops are so fun! We will definitely be back 🩷

As soon as my trip to LA was finalized, I immediately knew I needed to book my appointment at Tom’s One Hour Photo. The appointment was made the old school way — through good ol’ telephone. There is something so nostalgic about this place, because as soon as you step in you’re transported back in time. Mr. Tom is one of the kindest photographers I have ever met. He truly takes the time to make sure that not only are you enjoying your time but also that the photos will be just as beautiful. I loved how my photos turned out, and I still think about the wonderful experience I had. Tom’s is definitely on the top of my list for my next visit back to LA!

The other reviews are true. Tom is SO RUDE. I don’t know if that’s a racist thing or he is just a rude person. I normally am not sensitive. But Tom(the owner) is so rude, throughout the whole photo process, he made me feel so uncomfortable and I almost cried. I paid 20 bucks for a photo shoot to get insulted. Would NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORE
